When I sit behind my bench,
I think of people with indomitable spirits,
who know how to treat themselves.

My name is Tereza Chovancová and I transform personal experiences into jewellery. My love for precious stones and pearls has been with me since childhood. I loved looking through my grandmother's jewellery box; she was the one who explained to me what hallmarks meant. I knew I had to find my own expression. So I looked around, drew and created. The jewellery from my workshop has always captured important moments in my life.

One such moment was the tender nickname "fox," which imbued the jewellery with symbolism. After the birth of my first daughter, I replaced costume jewellery with working with precious metals and decided to study goldsmithing and jewellery making. The new perspective on jewellery and creation that I gained after completing my studies in goldsmithing awakened a desire for freedom in me. Shortly after the birth of my second daughter, I decided to free myself from the fox motif and gain unlimited space for creativity.

Handcrafting jewellery involves a range of techniques with evocative names such as hammering, shaping and soldering. All of them require precision and patience. The reward is the magical moment of polishing: in your work-stained fingers, a dull piece of metal is transformed into a shiny treasure.

I have built a new atelier in Staré Hradiště. It has become a sanctuary where I meet with my customers. Within easy reach of the city, overlooking the forest and wetlands, we share our passion for jewellery and the stories embedded in every piece. I would be honored to welcome you here.
